Touring on a VStar 650 Custom: “I haven't a clue as to how my story will end. But that's all right. When you set out on a journey and night covers the road, you don't conclude the road has vanished. And how else could we discover the stars?" (unknown)

Out And About - Saturday August 2 (Part 1)
August 2nd was packed with things to do and see in the area so I packed my walking clothes on the bike and headed out and about. First stop was the annual Show and Shine Car Show in Westport Ontario.
Here are some of my show favorites - mostly for sentimental reasons ...
My first car was a 63 VW Beetle ...
or because I couldn't pass up the license plate ...
Trobairitz ... it was a walk down memory lane on a beautiful day. My first car was a VW (which I had painted olive green, and with her pimento red interior earned the name Olie) and my first new car was a Mustang. I think from the time I was born I wanted a Mustang. (unfortunately in 1979 I missed the sport-stang and the muscle-stang era and bought the model year they brought in the mundane-stang but it was still a Mustang.) And I remember our Delta 88, the boat car. It floated from Kingston to PEI and back like a land ship, it was an incredible ride.
What a lovely day to look at beautiful cars.

DeleteNice selection of cars and nice photos. I think I like the last one though I don't know what it is.
ReplyDeleteAh, Richard ... see comment below.
DeleteThe last car is a 1957 MGA coupe. Rarely seen sister to the MGA roadster.

Ken I knew Richard's comment would pull on your heart strings. I knew it was an MGA ... but thanks for filling in the details.
DeleteThat blue grill sure reminds me of my '64 Chevelle. I would have LOOZ'd often but I always got where I wanted to go.
ReplyDeleteBut Coop you'd get there looking way cool in a '64 Chevelle!
