Today the snow piled itself even deeper, up past my knees. The birds, deer and all manner of wild life are desperate for food these days ... They need me! I'm committed, I've gotta feed them now.VStar Ladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13634216576989421497noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1394161184343172403.post-56128080721216592822014-01-27T21:09:32.626-05:002014-01-27T21:09:32.626-05:00Canajun - We get cold for 5 days but it lifts mome...Canajun - We get cold for 5 days but it lifts momentarily and we get blasted with snow and high winds then are thrown back into the deep freeze. Today started with a balmy-10 and steadily dropped: tomorrow -30 with blowing snow. "Oh, Canada ... snow squalls and all."
1600 motor vehicles involved in weather related crashes this weekend (or so they said on the radio this morn.) Not counting the young man from Ottawa clocked at 168kph on the 401 (in white out conditions) on Sunday, he didn't crash - just lost his car and lic. for 7 days. How is that you've avoided all of this when you are mere kilometers (in the grand scheme of things) away? The maritimes have suffered as well. It's been really cold, but not as cold as the places that hit -30C. And two weeks ago it was like late March or early April.

So, no snow envy here, you can continue to enjoy the piles of snow you've got and I'll continue to lie low and try to duck the rest of the extremes this winter plans for us.David Massehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09346419242154545286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1394161184343172403.post-63838649901469370472014-01-26T20:12:36.547-05:002014-01-26T20:12:36.547-05:00Richard, I told Coop that there were folks like yo...Richard, I told Coop that there were folks like you out there! I might miss it a little, but I lived in Northern BC for 13 years and shovelled snow and lived through -75 temps and while a little skiff of the white stuff is cool, any more than that and I am gone to warmer climbs. Pretty eclectic music playing in the background. The birds were pretty.
