Shoeless On The Porch ....

I have visions of  summer dancing in my head as I write this post, sitting shoeless, on the porch. I have no idea what the temperature is right now but I know that it is 9:30 and I'm comfortable sitting outside, listening to a symphony of frogs, raccoons and other nocturnal choristers.
No motorcycle ride today, it's booked for release next week, but I was glad I had the chance to walk by the water, not my lake, but the big water - Lake Ontario.
It's getting dark out here ... and it's a little bit spooky. Time to go inside. Hope your day was as glorious as mine.

  1. Got a little bit of riding in today and sat outside on the porch making dinner on the grill. Not quite barefoot weather but above freezing.

    1. Ah, but you got to ride - that trumps bare feet doesn't it?
There were hundreds of bikes out touring this weekend (apparently they were just more forward thinking than I!)

I'm not so sure about that. If it is a nice, warm sunny day then you have to decide which is better.

Feet inside sweaty hot boots, or toes air drying in the sun with or without sandals, with shorts to match & an a tank top too vs ATGATT

  2. Karen:

It was a gloriously hot/warm day here too. Shoeless and summer were made for each other

    1. Absolutely Bob! Nothing like the cool, soft new grass tickling your toes.

  5. Such pretty blue sky against the water. Perfect for walk. Of course sitting on the porch after a nice day sounds pretty good too.

    1. Almost a perfect day! A ride between the walk and the porch would have been the frosting!

  6. So that's what lakes look like when they're not frozen. It's been so long I had kind of forgotten. All kidding aside, it's supposed to reach 70ºF today! I'm happy!

    1. Erik - that is totally what a lake should look like. Sounds like you'll be getting some radiant heat from Ontario tomorrow - predicted 27C (80F) here tomorrow.

  7. Sigh. Water is so soothing. (It's only spooky when the owls start hooting. :) )

I'll bet you are excited about the motorcycle release soon?? That should be fun!

    1. I was totally excited until a friend told me the nice weather is supposed to end on Friday! May have to up the release day - Taking a first ride in the rain after a 7 month hiatus doesn't sound good!

  8. Those are good visions VStar Lady, an easy place to drift off to based on what I'm seeing here.

    Aren't you near Thousand Islands?

Enjoy that first ride and be careful!

    1. Coop - funny you should mention the 1000 Islands. If you look closely at the first pic you will see land (across the water)- that is actually Wolfe Island and the largest of the Islands. Kind of neat living between the 1000 Islands and Land of 1000 Lakes.

  9. I think spring has finally sprung. Been out a few times now but just running errands, not actually going on "rides". That will come soon enough. Here's hoping this great weather holds until your VStar is released.

  10. It definitely feels like Spring is here, but truthfully I've not experienced a "real" winter for a number of years now and am totally spoiled.

Rain. That has been the story. Rain and more rain. And it seems it rains mostly on the weekends. Oh well.

I miss the Great Lakes very much.
