Reflections

It has been a spectacular year for me ... exploring new places, meeting new people and running into folks I've met before. On this New Year's Eve, as I look forward to a brand new year and new adventures, I wanted to look back one last time and share some of my favorite moments and memories of 2012.  Happy New Year Everyone.

Thanks to Bobskoot for the group photo and photo of me in Hells Canyon, and thanks to Google Images for the fireworks.
Thanks Brandy for letting me know the video/slideshow had stopped working. I've removed the slide show and posted each slide individually.

What A Difference A Day Makes

One day respite from snow fall ... and what a difference a day makes. Clear skies and you can see across the lake. Beautiful!

Did you know Yamaha also makes ...
... just kidding, I knew that!  Can you feel the smile under his helmet?

Perhaps it will be ...

... a white Christmas after all.

It was another lovely day for a walk on the trails, being caught in a snowfall just made it special.
Merry Eve of Christmas Eve ... May the joys of the season find you all.

Let It Snow, Let It Rain, Let It Rain

Life is unpredictable and so is the weather. I could not have predicted the beauty of the full moon rising as I made the commute home from work on Wednesday, or the sudden snow that covered the skim of ice on the creek leaving it cold and dreary looking during last weekend's hike.
November ended like a blast chiller and December began like spring. It hasn't stopped raining for two days. Today's temperature was 20 degrees warmer than Friday. The outdoor ice rink opened behind City Hall but I didn't go skating. I decided to reminisce about the week just past instead. On my way out today I saw one motorcyclist ... I admired him for his stamina, but I was glad I wasn't him today.
Unpredictably - this apple tree grew possibly, according to the sign, because of an apple core thrown out the window of a passing train.
