A trip to Iroquois to photograph Carmen House - A stellar day, lots of practice waving to other riders |
It’s time for some “catching up” … a little bit of life, a
little bit of work and a whole lot of weather has gotten in the way but that doesn't mean I
haven’t had the chance to catch the breeze on my star a few times this spring.
In all honesty it hasn't been a great month for riding; with rain, cold
and all round unpredictable weather I haven’t added many miles to the odometer.

The rotten weather has given me a little time to update Garmin Dan |
Today, July first, we Canadians should be bitching about the
heat and instead it was perfect, even cool for riding in
full gear. Sadly those
temps came with a hovering, all day cloud cover that was enough to give a rider
the weather jitters.

Today was the hundred and forty-two K ride for lunch |
Now to look ahead, here’s the plan … I haven’t got one. Okay,
so I do plan to meet a few certain someones in the lovely State of Pennsylvania
in about two weeks and I will be home by my Mom’s 96
th birthday on
August 12 but other than that I think I’ll head south … maybe east … maybe
south again then back north and east before heading west again. Hey, whadya
know, I've got a plan, now all I need is a map, some clear skies and a new pair
of gloves.

A rose, by any other name ... is a worn out pair of riding gloves. I love those gloves! |
Happy Canada Day. Happy Summer. Happy Riding.
Karen,
ReplyDeleteI hope your riding plans get extensive enough to require multiple pair of new gloves. Can't wait to see where your wheels take you.
So that I don't forget, a very Happy, early Birthday to your mom.
You definitely need new gloves for your adventure.
ReplyDeleteAnd that lunch looks well worth a ride. Yumm. Now I am hungry and it is only 8:30 here.
It sounds like you have a great summer unplanned. And that lunch looks like it was worth the ride...
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great plan! Hope you enjoy it ( jealous!)
ReplyDeleteGood plan! Especially when it includes lots of miles and smiles. Enjoy the summer (best on two wheels).
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that just as a pair of gloves gets really comfortable, your fingers start sticking through the holes? If you decide to head north of where you are let me know and perhaps we can meet up for a coffee and/or ride together for a bit. It's been a s-l-o-w start to the riding season and I need to catch up!
ReplyDeleteKaren:
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have an unplanned plan. You could actually just cut the tips of those gloves off, and Voila ! A recycled pair of summer gloves, or keep as a spare.
Have many miles of smiles and clear, cool weather
