The Big Smoke And The Little Lucas Push

They say a picture's worth a thousand words ... but when it came to the Lucas Push in the Big Smoke last night I had a thousand pictures - is that worth a million words?

Queen's Park - Toronto
The 2014 Lucas Push ... just the usual small bunch of folks (and one party crasher) in the middle of a big town having way too much fun pushing a vintage motorbike around (pub to pub.) It gave the Big Smoke a bit of a 'little neighborhood' feel that I've never experienced in the city before.

My first Lucas Push: an evening of fine spirits, food, fun, great people, laughter and a lot of talk about motor-bikes with a little hockey thrown in of course (eh!)

Old York CVMG you may have discovered the cure for the Canadian February BLAHS. Hope I'm invited back next year - CHEERS!

Does it depend on hi which you pushed?

    1. Richard you're typing on your iphone again ... with auto correct right? If you meant does it depend on how well I pushed, nope - don't think they care. There were lots of strong pushers available.

  2. Good thing they were pushing the bike from pub to pub. Looks like everyone was having fun and raising their cup a time or two. Thanks for sharing the video.

Congrats to the Mens and Women's hockey teams. Great job on winning Gold.

    1. Brandy you are so right and the owner, though he rode it to the event arranged for a safe ride home (in the back of a pick up truck.)

I really liked your video. You are talented. Anytime you can get away for a day or two is a good time to recharge your batteries

    1. Thank you Bobskoot. Too bad it was so dark, my camera does not have a low light setting on video but I think you got the idea.
So true - a mini vacation is a great way to lift the spirits especially if it involves a lot of 'motorbike' talk and folk.

    2. Karen:

One thing to consider is that your shutter speed should always be double your frame rate, but not possible in low light. If you can set to aperature priority and then change to AUTO iso. This is what I do with my videos.

You may have a video setting to lower your frame rate to perhaps 24 FPS, or less. and leave your lens set to Wide Angle for a lower F-stop. Hope this helps

  4. Karen, I suppose it depends on how enthusiastic the pushers become as the festivities wear on. I could see the enthusiasm overwhelming the brakes, and maybe the rider too!!
