Just For The Memories

Last time I headed east, straight down the pike, so to speak - I ran into a hurricane. That time, day two, I made only 65 kilometres and was forced, because of wind, to stop. Next day I headed toward Fredricton. On a wing and a prayer, with a new friend riding wing, I ended up at a closed campground. I was just about out of gas and there was no possibility of getting any because of the wide spread power outages due to the storm. The kind owner, a woman, let me stay. There was nobody around and there were no services, except the toilets worked.
So today I thought, I'm in the neighbourhood, why not stop and take a look again, just for the memories and because it was 5 o'clock when it should have only been 4 o'clock (lost another hour of my life. Dam the time difference!)
Today, I met that woman's granddaughter. She works at the campground now. It's an RV park to the max, but they still let me stay. There was no sunset that night, just rain ... tonight the sun shone and set over the St. John river. Beautiful.

    1. Thanks Richard. That sunset just kept on giving. It seemed to last for along, long time.

  4. There is kindness everywhere. Good on you to know when to stop when riding gets too dangerous. I know of guys (of course) who would have tried to fight the storm and got hurt in the process.
Lovely sunsets. I hope you'll get to see more...

    1. That was a crazy day, the bridge to PEI was closed, there was a storm surge up the St. John River ... I couldn't stay on the road.

    1. Thanks El D. The iPad is working, but I am having to use photos from my phone ... thought it would save me some space, but it doesn't save time as now I have to take pictures with the phone and the camera.
