As It Turned Out ... Really?

As it turned out ... It would not be the cold. It would not be the damp. It would be the wind. A special weather statement warned of winds up to 100 km per hour; downded wires everywhere and on my front lawn, a spruce tree that has been standing staid for 50 to 100 years is now kindling.
The nearest airport (Y2K) recorded gusts of up to (only) 75 kph. Today we've seen torrential rain, hail, snow and wind - lots of wind. Is this April? Really??? Sad as it is, it's just a tree; the house and all of the people are all still sanding.

  1. Well, at least you have some more wood for the stove. That really is a lot of weather for spring...

    1. Spruce is rather soft and not the best wood for burning, but it will do. It's free!

  2. April showers...... more like April storms for you. Glad the tree wasn't closer to the house. And....it isn't snowing.

    1. It snowed for a bit, but that seemed to blow away ;) Hopefully we will get all of the nasty weather out of the way before riding season really begins.

    1. So true! 9 degrees below normal for the next two weeks ... this is April and this appears to be climate change. Hope you fared okay during the winds as the news reported a great deal of it along with freezing rain in your area.

  4. The weather is pretty bad in the UK too. really frustrating to get out on the bike and have it hail and rain 10 minutes later

  5. So far, when it's clear it's dam cold and when it's warm it's raining, hailing or attempting to freeze rain. Riding is not in my immediate future - after the most recent ice rain storm.
