And Suddenly ...

Something in the air says autumn has come ... and suddenly... everything looks different. My lake is quiet except for the odd ripple created by the tiny kisses of a few fish still hoping for summer. Its glassy smoothness reflects what the trees already know - winter is coming. I love my lake surrounded by autumn's splendor. October 3 - Round Lake.

      And it's only just begun. I hope that the predicted storms this weekend don't end the display ... I'm hoping to do a fall colours ride...

    Those colors, especially the reds, are wonderful. I hope they stick around for a while. It must be nice to have your own lake...

      Richard, I was afraid after such a hot, dry summer we wouldn't have the spectacular colours this fall ... (It is nice to have a lake to call my own!)

    I love "your" lake too. We have few Autumn colours. I am looking outside at our green trees. We don't even have yellow.

    It was going to be a bike commute this morning, until I noticed that I had frost on my windshield, and it was 4°c. We have cold air coming in from the ocean

      Bob, we've been enjoying a warm spell the past few days. And the trees are not the only part of nature adding to the beauty of fall - the whole world is exploding with beauty here this fall.

    Such pretty colors and the lake is so calm. Is that the calm before the storm?

    The lake was like glass ... there was a storm predicted but it didn't materialize. I suppose it's waiting for the weekend. (Keep your fingers crossed.)

    Those are breathtaking photos Karen. All the photos you've previously posted of the Kingston area makes me wonder whether we ought to be adding Ontario to our 2014 itinerary!

    Geoff - I seem to fall in love with the scenery every where I go but I have a real soft spot for my home town (& province)- especially in the fall...(the winter, the spring and the summer.) Don't miss it.Ontario, the beautiful! (Plus I know where you might find free accommodations!)
