Touring on a VStar 650 Custom: “I haven't a clue as to how my story will end. But that's all right. When you set out on a journey and night covers the road, you don't conclude the road has vanished. And how else could we discover the stars?" (unknown)

2013 The Eastside Story - Day 2
Day
two and I decided not to rush; after all, I'm on holiday! So I slept in
and I dawdled and took my time. I repacked my bike more efficiently. I
walked back to the Route 4 Diner and bought some coffee and I seemed to work up
a sweat doing very little. I did everything but remember to check the weather
so this morning found me putting my helmet on just as the first drops of rain
began to fall, but that's not the end of the story. Because the sky looked
nasty and the rain was already falling, I decided to abandon the sight-seeing
tour I had planned and make a bee line down the interstate to tonight's stop.
The rain was intermittent for a bit but never heavy enough to actually dampen
the parched pavement then it stopped and the sky was clear, but I was almost
here and sweating buckets. I arrived in Tewksbury for night two, glad to have booked
an air-conditioned Motel 6 room. No
pictures - having battled the Boston area traffic and construction most of the
trip; happy to be inside as I now see the temp at 4 pm has dropped to 91 F with
severe thunder storms moving in overnight. Hopefully tomorrow (though it’s not
looking promising according to the weather network) I will travel over to the
coast.

It's nice to be on holiday isn't it? Not a whole lot of commitments or schedules. You rode through Boston traffic, eh? Braver than I...
ReplyDeleteWhat day is it??? Boston - that's tomorrow (never say never.)
Delete91 and thunderstorms, now that sounds humid.
ReplyDeleteNothing like working up a sweat just breathing. It's not the heat, it's the humidity!
DeleteAh sweet vacation time. Enjoy it!
