There is nothing better than a sunny day after a storm to
remind me of the beauty in life; nothing like a granddaughter and Christmas Eve
to help me feel the joy the world has to offer and nothing like Mrs. W. (aka the
cat) lounging in front of a cozy fire to remind me all is good – as long as I
remember to take a nap.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight! (Shhh, I think I heard Santa.)
Merry Christmas to you as well, Karen. Hope the ice storm is over. Meanwhile we are almost back to spring. Yesterday it had 12C (plus!!!).
ReplyDeleteSonja - the storm has past and we are sitting a high for the day at minus 12 - Enjoy your heat :)
DeleteMerry Christmas Karen. Kitty looks very comfy.
ReplyDeleteTrobairitz, Kitty is very comfortable as she moves from sofa to chair and back - never more than 6 feet from the fire (is it cold outside?) Happy Holiday.
DeleteMerry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI think the cat has the right idea, why venture too far from the fire?
So true ... life in front of the fire is good!
ReplyDeleteKaren:
ReplyDeleteI trust you had a Merry Christmas and Santa was kind to you. Yes, there's nothing like a nap, & a fireplace when the world is covered in a white blanket
bob
Riding the Wet Coast
There's something comforting about the world being covered in white (as long as you're inside by the fire.)
DeleteI think the kitty has everything figured out & we should try a little more catlike lounging. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteDar, Kitty definitely has things all figured out ... somehow she's managed to train me as a 'lady in waiting.'
DeleteI just discovered your blog and even better is that I am close. I'm going right to page 1 and read about your experiences and maybe follow the same routes. Cheers and have a Happy New Year
ReplyDeleteGreetings k rowland s. You are brave, page one you say? (hope you've got a big pot of espresso.) It's always nice to meet a new blogger. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteI spent my late teens and twenties on sport bikes before a few years off for family and all that. Even when I did get back into it, it was just 2 or 3 hours at a time with friends who still had sport bikes. It wasn't until about 4 years ago [and a lifetime too late!] that I discovered the joy of long distance riding. And since my friends are ready to quit after 2 or 3 hours I do it alone on my SV1000S. Longest has only been 5 days due to time constraints and reading about your maiden voyage on your VStar has brought back pleasant memories of my trip through Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Maine a couple of years ago. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park were on my list of destinations but I decided while en route to take a run out to the tip of Cape Cod instead. Glad I did it -- not in any rush to do it again! It is a looooong, boring ride out and I was especting to see hours of ocean vista but really can't see the ocean until you finally reach the end. Anyway, before my comment becomes a blog of its own I will say thank you for the welcome and I am enjoying what I've read so far. I'm sure your writing will steer me onto some other good blogs. PS: I will have to check out that Battersea restaurant in the summer!
Deletek rowland s - First things first - It is never too late! That being said, you will have to go back to Acadia (BarHarbor is quaint ... but Acadia is special. I loved it and someday I may even get to the top of Cadillac when it isn't foggy.) Nice ride you have (I've a soft spot for Suzuki's as I've own two; a Marauder and Savage (they both looked the same, you could hardly tell the difference.) They laughed at me when I took the 650 Savage across the continent, but not as hard as they laughed when I rode the 250 Marauder around Superior.) If you want to see a comprehensive list of Motorcycle blogs ... OMG, start by perusing Bobskoot's sidebar, you'll find him on my sidebar (Bobskoot: Wet Coast Scootin) ... he's got everybody listed and thanks to him, I've met a number of exceptionally wonder moto-bloggers - in real time and in the cyber world.
Delete... oh, and everybody's always welcome at the Creek, unless we're in the middle of a cold snap, 'cause the pipes froze and they had to close on the weekend. "Oh, Canada, our home and frozen land ..."
