Some days, seemingly most days lately, all I’ve had to talk
about is the weather, but then there are other days, days like today when all talk turns to motorcycles. Today,
just in time to pull me out of the winter greys was another meeting of the somewhat
informal Kingston Area Vintage Motorcycle Group.
Yes, it snowed again overnight
but that was soon forgotten at the Creekside amidst the discussions of motorcycle parts, riding and racing by all who were there. There was the usual fare of nachos and libations...along with an overwhelming, optimistic feeling that spring might indeed arrive and motorcycles will again emerge from hibernation this year. Thanks Richard for another great meet ... and thanks Don for letting me know you've been reading along.
PS I heard a rumor today that the Vincent (from the barn) is nearing it's first fire-up and I've been promised exclusive rights to the film.

ReplyDeleteAh hah, I see a couple of familiar faces. Wished I were there . . .
but then I would need to purchase a vintage motorcycle unless of course, they accept vintage riders . . . or I could borrow one from somewhere (wink, wink)

Bob you'd fit right in. Obviously they accept vintage riders sans vintage bikes ... they accept me!
ReplyDeleteThe next best thing to riding is to talk about riding, motorcycles and having a good time with likeminded people.
ReplyDeleteTrue story Sonja ... plus it was an excuse to get out and get going.
DeleteOur table of "vintage" includes thousands of years, a great plenty of experienced people and machines. No requirements of ownership or experience required. Yesterday Monroe was there and I'll eat my hat if she's got even 24 months under her belt.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun!
Coop, this group is pretty eclectic as well ... it might be fun to total up years experience, some of them definitely life timers.
DeleteMore snow, sigh. At least you are keeping your spirits up and looking forward to getting back on two-wheels.
ReplyDeleteYour warm weather will arrive and people will still be talking about the weather - complaining it is too hot.
I can hear them now ... and more snow forecast for tomorrow.
