What Do You Do?

If you don’t have a motorcycle and can’t ride to the rally, what do you do? Well you take advantage of a friends offer to join her to explore what’s happening in and around town.
Today K-Town had lots happening … from Art Fest Kingston (a summer art and craft Show) to
A Taste of Kingston (an outdoor food festival in Confederation Basin,)

the Farmer’s Market plus the free Pam Am Cultural Festival at Fort Henry (one of Ontario’s most well-known historical sights.)
Perhaps there is a reason I didn’t have a motorcycle today … I would have missed everything else that was going on. Here's a quick look at the show the very serious summer students put on at the Fort.

  1. That's a lot going on for one weekend! Kingston must be pretty large...

    1. Richard Kingston relies a lot on income from tourism so the summer is jam packed with events to entice visitors. It's really a small city with a population of under 120 k and a lot of that is not what I'd call actually in the city but several municipalities were amalgamated a few years back and it looks much better on the highway sign. Kingston is very historic, it was for a short time Canada's Capital City (thus our lovely stone, city hall) then somebody changed their mind. (Oh, we also celebrate that on first capital day.

    1. Sonja, Kingston is a border town so the weekend that straddles both the first and fourth of July was really hopping. Compared to where you live, Kingston is in its puppy-hood but for North America it has history. It's a lovely city to live near and work in.

  3. Serendipity...... you were meant to enjoy other pursuits that day. And it looks like it was quite enjoyable.

    1. It was a great day ... the weather was perfect: sun, 23C with a light breeze (it would have also been perfect motorcycling weather for those people who have motorcycles that work!) This weekend in celebration of the Para Pan Am games opening (in T.O.) all was free that was sweet too!

  4. Hard to beat spending a nice summer day in and around an historic Ontario town (er, city).

    1. The best thing was - it was all free (the normal fee for Fort Henry is $17 per person I believe.) And it is a small town, I love it though.
