Seems Like Forever

Seems like forever since the sun has shone ... seems like forever that work hasn’t been a weekend affair ... seems like forever since I’ve ridden the VStar.
Forever is a long time and that time finally came today. The rain finally let up, the sun shone and the work, well, sometimes the work has to be put on the back burner. Finally, today, I got out to play on the VStar.
Today’s trip was a short one, just over 200 km through all the familiar places. First it was a stop at Westport for coffee then on to Merrickville (must have been something going on there … bikes everywhere, little space to park) next to Delta and then back home.
Ahhhh – it feels good to be back.

  1. Indeed, good to be back on two wheels, isn't it? I enjoy every minute that I can get on my little scoot while my sportster is stuck in customs, and will have to pass German technical compliance test and bureaucracy before I can get it on the road again. The Vespa however is totally ok for German roads. Lots of turns... easier on a light bike...

    1. Poor sportster ... I bet he's lonely. Don't tell him you've been scooting. I agree, there's something free and easy riding a light bike.

  2. Karen,
I remember that feeling......it was only weeks ago though months ago would have been preferred.

Wishing you a long and safe season!

    1. Thanks Coop - I can't believe the weather this year ... I think this is the latest I've been getting out for a good run. Don't ever remember ice rain in May before (good excuse to sit home though.)

  3. Karen:

I had to get my map out and see where you went. I remember driving through Smith Falls and got a craving for chocolate for some reason.

It won't be long now before you are "released from work" and just ride your *Star for the summer

    1. Ah, Bob - Did I go to sleep on the nice coast and wake up on the wet coast ... pouring rain again today and the forcast is for another 4 days solid rain.
I didn't go through Smith Falls (and it doesn't smell of choclate anymore, sadly - Hershey moved, perhaps back to Pennsyvania) ... cut straight through Crosby east and cross country.
14 more days ... work days that is (but who's counting!) I can almost smell it. I am hoping for the rain to stop before then. C U Soon.

  4. Hooray for getting back on two wheels - and on such a nice sunny day too.

How long before your summer break? Kids are out of school here on Wednesday. Seems early to me.

    1. Kids are out of school on Wednesday! Think I'll move to Oregon.
3 more weeks of fun here on the new "wet" coast. Raining again! Can't believe how much water has fallen from the sky in the past 3 weeks. But at least I had one sunny day.

  5. A nice summer Sunday and it seems like every biker in a 200 kilometre radius heads to Merrickville - no other reason needed.

  6. No kidding - can't believe how many bikes there were in that little town all at the same time. Not to mention the group of 10 who decided to ride as one through the four way stop. Lucky the tourists were patient.
