On US 1 views of the ocean are intermittent at
best between Portland and Bar Harbor but with a little luck one might actually
see the water and one will most definitely see a whole lot of roadside eateries
featuring lobster....
...and really big coffee cups.
The heat wave has broken and with it came the overcast sky
again. There was a hint of rain early on but as the day went by the dark sky
disappeared. Today ended with a lovely sunset over the water.
As I walked through the campground I thought how wonderful
it would be if I could take a picture that could let you smell the salt air
mixed with smoke and hear the campfires crackling. Life is good.
Lobster and coffee, what else would you need?
ReplyDeleteYour image of salt air and campfire smoke sounds wonderful. I miss going to the ocean...
AHH. I know those roads and it is such a wonderful view. Enjoy Acadia. Sigh...I'm just reliving good memories. :)
ReplyDeleteNot to worry, those scents you mention are right here while I'm looking through your photos.
ReplyDeleteI'm really liking that sunset photo!
ReplyDeleteI am starting to get a little jealous, here on the middle coast. :)
ReplyDeleteConcerning the giant coffee mugs - did they do a good job of keeping the coffee HOT?
Nice post Karen.
ReplyDeleteWhen I close my eyes and can still smell the sea air and the way it makes your body feel.
Glad you are having more comfortable weather.
You continue to lead, and I'll follow. Silly Bob.
Here I thought that first picture was going to be a favorite then you went and posted a sunset picture. Very nice.
