... and for me, Rosy Outlook #430 by Sally Hansen.
The packing is organized, but can't be finalized. We've been having nightly visits from a very clever racoon. So far he has been (impressibly) able to open a knapsack and empty it though he appears to be very honest having left the money on the walkway (apparently he didn't realize he could buy his own gum if he just took the money and ran.) He has gotten into the pick up truck and unzipped a lunch bag and his latest accomplishment, last night, he found and was able to twist the top off a jar of almonds. He's persistent and regular garbage just won't do. I'm afraid to put anything that might be considered tasty on the bike tonight.
Is there such a thing as having too many flashlights? I definitely have to reduce the number I'm taking with me.
It seems to have been such a dry winter for me as a blogger but as I begin the finishing touches for this summer's tour the words have started to flood into my head like the rains in Alberta and I'm determined to keep a rosy outlook even though there are hurricanes to the left of me, storms to the right of me...I won't be stuck in the middle ... I'm heading out tomorrow.
Enjoy! I'll be jealously following along...
ReplyDeleteI will Richard, thanks ... but it probably won't match Hell's Canyon!
DeleteLooking forward to reading about the trip!
ReplyDeleteStay safe and have fun!
Thanks Andrew.
DeleteStuck in the middle will do you well. Safe and delightful travels Karen! Let us follow along when you can.
ReplyDeleteRight now in the middle is just the right spot. I may have to stick around a bit to stay in the middle.
DeleteWow, what's this collection of flashlights for? Do you strap them all on your bike for high viz? I have only one one... and that's a function coming with my iphone ;-)
ReplyDeleteI should, but then I wouldn't be able to keep up with batteries. I did manage to narrow down the collection to just 4 (or 5)
DeleteHooray, vacation is upon you.
ReplyDeleteHopefully that raccoon moves on to other places while you are away. They sure can be clever.
Cute nail polish too, painted toes are a must for summer.
A gal absolutely has to have summer toes, I agree Trobairitz.
DeleteKaren:
ReplyDeleteYour Rosy Outlook gives me a smile
Enjoy the solitude and watch out for the storms around you. Just let your bike lead the way and "hang on"

Riding the Wet Coast
Think I will sit tight rather than hang on when it comes to Arthur. Tomorrow will tell whether I stay in Levis.
DeleteIncredibly smart racoon!
ReplyDeleteThere is never any such thing as too many flashlights. One always leaves it exactly where one is not standing and needing it. :) I collect them too.
