Finally ...

Finally (I'm certain) the long winter has ended. Finally the roads are dry. Finally the temperature has risen. Finally the Star is back in the paddock. Finally the old sagging Gears bags have been removed and replaced by new Tourmaster and Iron Rider luggage ... ready for the her fifth summer tour.
Before
During (Naked as the day she was born.)
 After ... All (re) dressed.

  1. The new luggage looks pretty nice (and straight). I was wondering if you were doing another road trip this year. How many more days of school?

    1. Almost straight Richard. It's challenging when it's on the side stand. All by myself it looked straight then I had a son stand it up while I inspected. Needs a slight adjustment. I am planning another summer tour, possibly south (weather permitting, first stop is PEI - July 7) and there are 29 school days left (but who's counting =oD)

    1. Race ready ... snicker! You do remember you are talking to the slowest Canadian! Where to? Not sure of anything except the first stop is in PEI on July 7 to cross paths with my friend Ron who will have just completed his Newfoundland tour and will be on the return trip.

  4. Yup all ready except for the packing and knowing where I'm going (minor details.) I haven't been south for some time ... I think, if it doesn't get too hot, it might be time again - I've got my eye on a campground in the keys ... man, does that mean I've committed?

Can't blame you it's about time for some heat.

  5. I like the look of the new bags. This spring has put a serious damper on my riding (read: none to date) but I hope to correct that in the next day or so, even if only to the golf course. It's been a l-o-o-o-o-n-g winter.

  6. Karen:

I'm so envious of your southern tour, and also PEI. Hope you don't get rained out. I sure wished we did the North Cape loop.

No road trips this year for me and my riding season ends mid July when I park my bikes until September.

It is my wish to make it to the Keys too, one day. Hope you get good weather and not too HOT

bags are looking very nice. Lots of room to carry more stuff

  7. I too was wondering where your summer trip would take you this year. PEI = Prince Edward island? Looking at the map of the states you have ridden in (or not), I would say that a trip to Texas, New Mexico and Arizona must be due soon. Wait, you haven't ridden in Arizona??? Oh just think of the possibilities.... Monument Valley... Antelope Canyon.... Grand Canyon.... Flagstaff... Route 66 near Seligman.... Sedona.... Meteor Crater.... Phoenix.... Oatman.... Oh girl, you had better get planning!

    1. Yup Gary, PEI = Prince Edward Island (or as we call it, "The Island."
I know, I know. Texas, Arizona and New Mexico - but man, they get hot in July ... maybe, if I get real brave, I might touch Texas - maybe! Route 66 is on my bucket list but it may have to wait until my retirement list if I can still hold the VStar up by then :-D.

    1. Not quite loaded Walter. New bags, now I have to rethink how everything gets loaded - just when I had a great system. Have totally got to re-think the entire packing system.

  9. Woohoo! Here comes the riding season! Beautiful new luggage. You just have to break it in. :) Give out a shot if you head south and pass through ATL. Got a pit stop for you if you need it.

    1. Well, Beemer Girl ... now that you've brought the subject up, I was thinking I'd be travelling in Mike's footsteps a lot of the way and there would be nothing more welcome than a friendly face in ATL.
