Oh, the weather ...

Oh, the weather ... it couldn't have been more perfect nor the colours more spectacular. What a fantastic weekend for riding. Too many beautiful colours and so few places to stop to take a picture. I did my best.

... Wearing Pink crocks ...

He walked into our lives wearing pink crocks ... his enthusiasm for life and his generosity affecting us all, forever. Bob’s friendship brightened our lives more than the colour of his shoes. Yes, David, let’s commemorate Bob … let’s play it forward in any way we can – every day like Bob!
The only thing harder in life than losing a friend is to think of a life in which they had not crossed our path at all. My heart and my sympathies go to Yvonne and family.
My memories of Bob …

Who knew it would be the last time we would meet. Good bye my friend, until we meet again.

Lunch Today … Lunch Tomorrow

Once again I couldn’t pass on an offer to meet fellow rider and friend Ron in “The County” for lunch. The weekend weather was a bit sketchy to begin with but today was motorcycle perfect: cool and clear. Today I thought I’d check out an alternate route and passed on the usual, direct 95.7 km route for a more roundabout (175.3 km) way to get there. I headed west to Bellrock, through Enterprise then north to Tamworth and west again to Tweed. I was looking for county road 14 but Dan suggested 13 so I took it. 13, after bits of gravel and pavement turned into Moneymore road which could have used a little more money on maintenance but in the end was a great ride.
Realizing I was going to be late for lunch I switched from meandering  to a more direct route that took me to the Shannonville Road where I had to stop (late for lunch or not) to photograph this picturesque old mill next to Chisholm’s Tim-BR Mart near Roblin. A gem in the middle of nowhere Ville.
From there I headed directly toward Bloomfield via 37 through Belleville. I was a bit late … but not a bit disappointed by lunch ... enough for today

...and the waitress packed my lunch for tomorrow.
Plus we had live entertainment on the patio.
Ah, Summer!
(The Saylor House Café, I said I'd be back!)
