As Luck Would Have It ... Day 2

The sky was overcast once again this morning. I couldn't pick up the weather network on the campground wifi. The weather channel was showing the weather behind me but didn't seem be talking about the weather ahead of me. I couldn't tell where the storm was but the sky had been red last night, and I've always heard red sky at night sailor's (in this case, biker's) delight so I broke camp and headed out. I spent a bit of time at the local service centre getting coffee and gas then headed east onto the TransCanada. The weather was cool and I was glad I was wearing heat! I had a pleasant 40 minute ride then I met what I thought must be the tail winds of Arthur. I was being tossed around the highway like a plastic bag so decided it prudent to head for the first tourist information spot I could find - Montmagny Quebec. The woman there informed me it was indeed Arthur and was only going to get worse so ... I bailed.

As luck would have it, I found a little B&B for about $5 more than a campsite and I was guaranteed to be warm and dry ... As luck would have it, it is a nice little town, good for about a 20k walk about ... Of course, as luck would have it, the wind died down and the sun peeked through (after I had paid for the B&B) ... As luck would have it I'm staying here tonight. The B&B has no wifi but the local Tim Horton's does ... and as luck would have it, this town is filled with bikers and this Tim Horton's is no different than every other Tim Horton's across the country, it is the local meeting spot for everything two-wheeled. (As luck would have it, I did take some photos but forgot my card reader 5k back at the B&B.) I've had good weather luck so far in a bad weather zone and if my luck continues maybe I'll get a little further tomorrow.

  3. Hope you have more luck on the horizon today. If you need a place to hang out - Tim Horton's with other riders sounds like the place to be.

    1. Lady luck followed me again today ... but now I'm in PEI. It always rains when I get to PEI. I'm sure my relatives can judge when I'm close by the weather. But It's heaven for me, even if it rains.

  4. Hopefully Arthur will leave soon. My brother is just riding back from Halifax where they waited out the worst of the storm, but there's apparently lots of damage in southern NB and NS that's resulting in closed campgrounds until they can clean up the fallen trees, etc. So call ahead to make sure your destination is still operational..

    1. Arthur's gone ... his effects still being felt. No power in a lot of spots, and yes, campgrounds are closed. I'm lucky though - so far! Hope your brother makes it home safe and sound!
