Only In Canada ...

When the temperature rises to almost single digit minus numbers, and the snowbank is only one metre deep - what is one to do?

BBQ - Eh!
Only in Canada! (do people start talking about cooking in the snow on a moto-blog)
With apologies to my vegan friends and the cow!
By the way, this evenings BBQ was brought to you by me and the Weber. That is one reliable BBQ - the electric start has worked two winters in a row, no fail, on the same battery, and they didn't ask me to say that!

  1. Our grill gets year around use (assuming that someone remembers to get propane) though I've needed a headlamp to see what I am doing at times.

    1. Ah yes the propane...that's why I was so excited, somebody actually did remember to replace the propane tank.

  2. I'd happily put some mushrooms, bell peppers, eggplant and other veggie stuff on the BBQ. Maybe I'll even throw in a tofu burger. Loving the Canadian way!

    1. MMMMMM - sounds like a great grill menu Sonja. Winter - if you can't beat it, might as well embrace it.

  3. Might as well BBQ year round as long as the winds aren't high.

    1. The BBQ is fairly protected from the wind as it is sitting on the porch but when it's windy it is hard to get it up to temp.

  4. Love it! We use ours year-round as well, although it can be a bit chilly going out to check on the steaks at times. :)

    1. It can be for sure ... lucky for me mine is just a few steps from the back door (doubly lucky because I usually run out in the snow in my slippers. Just too lazy to put on boots.)

  5. Brave girl! I used to BBQ in the winter, no longer... Brrr. Indoor recipes for me.

  6. Sometimes I just need a change ;) (I don't stay out any longer than I need to - can keep an eye on it from inside, through the window.)

  7. What part of the Great White North are you located. I'm on the Rock myself, where right now we have several feet of snow still on the ground, but I can hear freezing rain hitting the window... first signs of spring. :/

    1. Hello HighwayMan. If you live on the Rock, then I have nothing to complain about sitting here in Eastern Ontario where spring is flirting with us. I see another storm is heading your way in the winter that just won't quit. Thanks for stopping by!
