Another Summer Saturday

On any given summer Saturday, Kingston’s Confederation Basin is filled with ‘serious’ boats and today was no exception. The Thousand Island Poker Run was happening today and there were definitely some serious boats in the harbor.





I’ve never actually seen the beginning of this event before so it was time.

Also … there were plenty of motorcycles about …

And Saturday market fare …


Plus the annual sheep dog trials event at Grass Creek Park.


Just another summer Saturday in my home town.

    Bikes and boats, what a nice combo! All together with the market fair it almost has a French Riviera touch to me.

      Even tried to catch the boats again at their last check point but they were hidden behind one of the islands.

      Dom, the main industry in the area is tourism. They like to make it worth your time if you come to visit.

    Really nice looking Saturday market fare. The serious boats seem a bit too serious ($$$$).

      The market is lovely and runs every Wednesday and Saturday from the time they take the ice off the outdoor rink in the city hall square until they get ready to put it back in. Every Thursday night they run movies in the Square where you can take your lawn chair and watch an outdoor movie for free, and of course any day of the week during the winter you can skate for free.

      Brandy, the price is the first thing I thought of ... especially that little red number called "My Way" which was rumored to have a helicopter engine in it. It was a beautiful day.

    Wow, something for everyone! It doesn't get better than bikes and boats! We were just talking about how summer isn't long enough for our toys.. :-)
