Touring on a VStar 650 Custom: “I haven't a clue as to how my story will end. But that's all right. When you set out on a journey and night covers the road, you don't conclude the road has vanished. And how else could we discover the stars?" (unknown)

It Would Be Beautiful ...
It would be beautiful if it wasn't happening so soon.
Yup! It snowed again today ... so perhaps I didn't jump the gun.
Might like to visit the white stuff, but wouldn't want to live where it came around yearly. We are finally going to be in the 80's all week for the high unless the weather guessers are wrong. That is perfect for me. I have to agree with Richard though, it is beautiful.
The first snow is really beautiful ... though I prefer it happen just before Christmas. Before Halloween is a bit too early even for us hardy Canadians ... but this too will pass.
We're still waiting for our first snow of the season. We had just a few flakes 2 nights ago, but I didn't think there was enough to really qualify as the "first snow". We have a few days left in the upper 50's so I'll be taking them all out for a ride and stop to fill them up just incase the snow comes unexpectedly.
Its beautiful as long as it melts quickly! I am in no hurry for winter, most of our trees have leaves still hanging. The weather gods & goddesses are predicting a warm wet winter gor us here. So tossing around whether to reinsure or not. I still have a few weeks left on it, so I may just keep it going for a bit depending upon how it is mid-November.m
It all melted on contact but it's a roller coaster. Last weekend 20 degrees this weekend 0 degrees. Crazy and now I just don't have to worry about having to find a truck to truck it to storage just in case.
Just way to early. I don't usually expect it until November. And now the forecast is calling for temps of up to +15 by the end of this week. What the???
Weird weather. Golf tournament on Sunday had to be rescheduled because there was 2" of snow on the course. 2 miles in any direction there was none. Now we're back into the low teens for a while so maybe I'll get another ride or two in before we really sink into the deep freeze.
Oddly enough Sonja we had one of the warmest Octobers on record, it just happened that the temperature dropped for a couple of days and both days it snowed.
Karen we got a few flakes here, and I lost no time getting the Honda VT750 into storage. Oddly I just assumed the worst and got quite bundled up for the ride to the dealer. When the garage door went up I was surprised to find myself overdressed, and having to raise the visor and lower some zippers to avoid overheating.
We've had snow on the mountains twice, but it melted and nothing in town. Winters are long and it is really hard for me to think about parking it for 6 or more months.......I'm not ready :)
Thanks Richard: it is, isn't it!

DeleteI take back all of those bad things I said (to myself) about your hanging it up for the season. :) Daughter Hanna texted me from Cleveland..."snow"
ReplyDeleteLooks like you nailed it.....time for a rest....and planning. It really will go by fast enough.
Coop - it isn't going to last, but it is too unpredictable to wait; had to do it when I had the chance.

ReplyDeleteErik, this didn't stay but it was blizzardish ... so I think it qualifies.

DeleteWow, early snow. Thankfully haven't seen that stuff yet, so still riding...tad cool these days, though. Nice video BTW.

DeleteSnow? I think we lucked out, it was 70˚F here yesterday and I was working in the yard in a t-shirt and shorts.
ReplyDeleteGlad the snow didn't stick around.
Brandy, a week ago it was 20 C here and beautiful ... seems like, except for the colours we missed a season.

ReplyDeleteIt was crazy around here watching people out mowing their lawns caught in a blizzard.
DeleteWe had an unusual cold October with first snow as well. However, I kinda like it, because I know it won't stay, but rather come and go over winter...
