Just Too Nice ...

I may have packed it in too early this year (as far as riding goes) but I have no regrets. These 'just too nice' bonus days have given me time to explore places that are 'just too beautiful' not to share. Motorized vehicles are not allowed on many of the trails and I surely would have missed them if...




Or maybe I'm just making excuses!

    OK, a picture of those pony carts requires a well located horseshoe, errr
    no 5 ponies times 4 ,carry the ; add ; ummm 20 horseshoes in size small .Nice photos .

      Yup Don, it was luck to meet up with five miniature (so I was told) horses wearing 20 tiny, aluminum looking ballet slippers. It was quite a sight.

    Beautiful pics. Don't make excuses please, sometimes slow(er) does it. This is why I take my beach cruiser on occasion to explore where I can't go by bike.

      Truth be told I love hiking. For the most part the trail is not open to motorized vehicles ... some of it is though and those parts are very popular with snowmobile-rs in the winter.

    Except for the mini horses, the photos look like they could have been taken down the road from me. I like the cattails and milk weed.

      I love the milk weeds and cattails too Erik; but what - no mini horses down your road? In all honesty, I've no idea where this group came from or where they went. I know we kept overtaking them until they started to trot and then they lost us. Somewhere they turned around and passed by again going the opposite direction on their little dancing hooves.

    Nice photos, especially the reflection of the sky on the pond. Nothing at all wrong with posting pictures while on a hike (or on a bicycle, car, tractor, or any other conveyance).

    I love it, these are just the kind of photos I love to take! Thanks for the reminder, there is quite a bit to see not on 2 wheels. Provides some relief for bike withdrawal.

      Kathleen there are so many different things to see when slow down aren't there? And when the bike's been put to bed, well - you've even got a great excuse. I'm not a photographer, but I never take a walk or a ride or a drive without my camera.

      Thanks Trobairitz that was the one photo not taken along the hiking trail. I thought for sure you'd be someone who might identify the flower looking fungus on the log though (the black things to the left, the ones that look like animal scat - also mushrooms that I can't identify.)

    That picture of the miniature horses got me searching. I was sure I'd find out who they were, where they came from and where they were going. What I found out is that miniature horses are a thing! A popular thing! Way more miniature horse goings on in Ontario than I could have imagined.
