Touring on a VStar 650 Custom: “I haven't a clue as to how my story will end. But that's all right. When you set out on a journey and night covers the road, you don't conclude the road has vanished. And how else could we discover the stars?" (unknown)

What A Difference A Week (or 2) Can Make
last week ...
today!
It's been a roller coaster ride from +13C to -37C to snowmageddon (45 cm and still falling.) Put your motorcycle back in the shed and fire up the snow machine!
Before you fire up the snow machine better fire up the four-wheel drive tractor with the five foot wide snowblower. And to think I just got insurance for my motorcycle. What was I thinking?
Yup, tractor got fired up this afternoon ... been plowed down to a reasonable depth ready to try it again tomorrow. Two weeks ago I wished I had the bike at home ... today, it's a pipe dream.
Oh my! What a change in such a short time. We just had our driest January on record. Only 0.01" of precipitation. And not a single day below -25°F. That was also some kind of record. Isn't el nino interesting?
Richard we were having a delightfully warmish (most days above the average) relatively light snow year until this storm hit dropping a full months worth of snow in one day in this area. Thank you el nino.
Worst of it missed us - only about 25 cm here. But it's nice to see some snow on the ground so we can get out and enjoy winter a little bit. At least until it rains.... :(
The day after the storm was beautiful - perfect temperatures for playing in the snow. It was just getting home from work and into the driveway that had me saying bad words. The road crews just couldn't keep up to the snow.
The snow was beautiful, once it stopped falling from the sky and I was home safe and sound to look at it. The cold snap was short, only lasted about 3 days but it was excessive and I could have done without the dead from the cold battery.
We got the average monthly snowfall all in one day this week. I could do without the cold as well though it was short lived but it was severe. I've learned however the Tuscon will start at -30 but will not start at -37 - oh what a difference 7 degrees can make (and what a difference a block heater could have made!)

DeleteBut snow is so pretty...... I don't miss the cold temps, but occasionally miss the snow.

DeleteStill cold in the Black Forest but no snow on the ground... Wouldn't mind getting a bit of yours, but not your temperatures.
