It's the first day of March Break and most Ontarians have already flown, driven or some how gotten their sorry, winter-tired asses off to a southern destination that promises sunshine and warmth, but where's VStarLady?
Montreal, PQ.
and a little Street Art
Wait a minute! Didn't David M just escape Montreal to look for some sunshine? How did you manage to find it?
ReplyDeleteAre all these animals in the Biodome?
True story Richard ... David leaves and the sun comes out :-)
DeleteAll of these animals and thousands more live in Montreal's Biodome. It represents 5 ecosystems of the Americas.
the penguins are looking so cute....
ReplyDeleteF.B.M. ...Thanks for stopping by. There were several species of penguins at the Biodome, this pair was just as interested in looking at the humans as the humans were in looking at them.
DeleteHere nice little puddy-cat? Ouch! I love the orange bird. Any idea what it's called?
ReplyDeleteWalter he was a beautiful little puddy, just a baby actually but probably wouldn't make a good house cat, might eat the pet rabbit. The red bird is a Scarlet Ibis. There were other tropical birds but it being the first zone, (tropical/rainforest) after coming in from outside my camera lens would not stay fog free long enough to take pictures.
DeleteYou definitely know how to break, that's for certain. A couple of hemisphere's visited just confirm it.
ReplyDeleteNew smiles on your face, home seen in a new light and that's always good.
Sometimes we forget what's close to home.
DeleteWhere did you get the smoked meat? Looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteCanajun that smoked meat was from the Main on St. Laurent - The restaurant has been on Canadian Food Network, "You Gotta Eat Here," and is directly across the street from Montreal's famous Schwartz's.
DeleteLooks like a fun day out!
ReplyDeleteI have a friend living in New Zealand who did a graduate degree (I can't recall if it was a Masters or PhD) studying the penguins there. I have to admit, I'm jealous of the penguin part (though, I'm not jealous of all the work he had to do to make his dream happen. 5 room mates? no thanks... ;) )
Anyway, great pics. I was aware there is a bird called the Ibis, but I don't recall seeing one before. Super cool!
Thanks Lucky - first time I've seen a penguin in the 'feather.'
DeleteWell that sounds like a fun getaway.
ReplyDeleteMontreal must have known you were coming if the sun came out. Sucks to be David - he is stuck at the wet coast in the rain.
The sun's been shining and the ice sculptures have been melting for the past two days ... can't guarantee what it will be like when I head back to Ontario. Perhaps the warm weather will follow David home.
DeleteKaren:
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're finding a bit of Spring in the middle of your winter. New sights, sounds and tastes of being in a different City. A nice break from the drudgery of work.

Karen, what was that smoked meat contraption? I don't see rye bread. Was that on offer at the Main Deli, or is there another slice of heaven across from Schwartz's?
