Touring on a VStar 650 Custom: “I haven't a clue as to how my story will end. But that's all right. When you set out on a journey and night covers the road, you don't conclude the road has vanished. And how else could we discover the stars?" (unknown)
Although grey is a miserable colour, I'd rather not have to shovel and I'd really rather not have to drive in white out conditions on the ice (my 30 minute commute turned into near an hour with road conditions. All buses are cancelled but all teachers are expected to arrive at work :( Schools are open!)
Kathleen, it was only between 12 and 15 cm but it came fast and with gusting winds. All the school buses were cancelled. By Friday it was raining and the snow was all but a memory. If Mother Nature could just make up her mind.
So, what happened? Inquiring minds want to know...
ReplyDeleteWinter happened Richard. We knew it was coming but somehow it still came as a big surprise.
DeleteNo denying the inevitability of winter any more this year.
ReplyDeleteTrue story! But a sad one just the same.
DeleteSo, winter arrived there too?
ReplyDeleteIt has, but so suddenly ... I much prefer to ease into it, rather than be slammed in the face with it overnight. But it is what it is.
ReplyDeleteThat is a big difference. But at least it is a season. As much as I enjoy now shoveling snow, the color of rain gets old after a while.

DeleteI remember when I used to ski. Winter couldn't come soon enough. Maybe we should all get Urals and follow Dom and Richard's example.
ReplyDeleteUrals or snowmobiles ... Nah, I like to be warm. I couldn't do it.
DeleteHow much snow did you get?

DeleteWe had the very same change, sudden like a slammed door. Here's hoping that the season is a mild one for you!
ReplyDeleteCoop, the weather's been crazy - up and down and very unpredictable. The long range forecast says big snow...we'll see.
