These Boots ...
Were made for walking ...
But I expected to be walking in these boots
... Not these on April 16, 2018.
This morning's radar image ... pink is freezing rain.
Our snow is melting at a pretty good pace now. And nothing but sun (we’re almost up to 16 hours!) and warmer temps in the forecast. When you start so far down anything could be seen as an improvement…
Just as a point of reference, by April 17 last year (and most years) the ice on our lake had completely disappeared. Yesterday I checked and it was still 8 to 10 inches thick and solid. Horrible non-existant spring.
Last year, this week ... the John Deer came out to mow the grass for the first time. Our lake has finally lost it's ice. It was different this year, not chunks but a slow thinning. The frogs woke up Friday afternoon and the Heron arrived on Saturday along a the pair of Loons.
I feel for you Karen. It seems like the weather has gone crazy no matter where you live in the world. Best wishes for a rapid improvement!
ReplyDeleteThanks Geoff ... a week has made a huge difference.

ReplyDeleteYup, it's all a matter of perspective! The snow has just about melted here, the ice has gone today from the lake.
DeleteIck Blah on your weather.
ReplyDeleteBobskoot would have loved those boot pictures though. :-)
That just put a smile on my face Brandi ... yup, I'm sure he'd have liked the boots!
DeleteWhile reading your post I am shaken by cold shiver... 25C in the Black Forest today. Yes, spring's already here!
ReplyDeleteTotally jealous Sonja...TOTALLY.

DeleteI hope spring is starting to stick out there. Winter gets tiresome.
ReplyDeleteI hear you Dar ... I'm tired of winter. This has got to be the end. Hope the weather on the west coast is better than here on the east so far.
