Motel 6 was there. Who wants to camp in a severe storm when you can have indoor plumbing for a couple dollars more. Even better, the lady felt sorry for me and reduced the price so tonight, inside and dry is costing a bit less than last nights campsite. Okay, the scenery isn't quite as beautiful but did I mention the indoor plumbing!
I'm liking the zipper off feature of the Tour Master Cruiser Style saddle bags ... here you see them
Here you don't
Way better than running out to the bike several times to unload piece by piece. Tomorrow, if they zip back on as easily as they zipped off, I will be truly impressed.
Today's short ride was one to mark on the 'return to places'. Beautiful, newly topped roads (NH 202 & 9) meandering through the forests, up hill and down through gorgeous little towns like Meredith. I would have liked to stop several times had I not been trying to outrun the weather. Tonight the rain has stopped and the town is hot and steamy.
Who knows what tomorrow will bring!
Not only indoor plumbing, but DRY!!! :) I love being able to just pull a bag off of the bike instead of piecemeal. Looking forward to hearing about the upcoming roads.
ReplyDeleteDry - you got it! Hopefully it stops raining and I get back on the road =)
DeleteThat looks like a lot of rain in the second photo. Nothing wrong with a warm, dry room with indoor plumbing!
ReplyDeleteKaren:
ReplyDeletethat rain looks worse than your umbrella photo. I'm glad you are safe and dry. What a score to get a discount. Those are nice bags, much easier than having to unpack in the rain

Riding the Wet Coast
Bob it was coming down pretty hard, maybe not as hard as it did while we were in that gas station in Gagetown though. I love a good discount too!
DeleteIt started coming down very hard again and I was glad to be looking at from under the roof this time.
ReplyDeleteHope the rain has stopped!
ReplyDeleteI like the map that came this time. I can see where you are (or were, last night).
Stay safe and don't meet up with any more cows (or deer, bears, etc!)
Still here - still raining. I seem to be just on the edge of that big storm system hitting Boston/NewYork. I don't think there are warnings for this area but it really hasn't let up since last night.
DeleteOh that picture of your poor bike in the rain. If it was raining that hard when you arrived, I can imagine how you felt/looked.
ReplyDeleteHooray for a dry nights sleep.
That looks like nasty weather, glad you found shelter to keep safe and dry.
