A Moment ...

Sometimes it only takes a moment … a quick lunch, a short talk and all of a sudden it seems like you’ve known a person for a long time.
Today I had a moment. Today, I had the chance to meet Ed Kilner (BMW Triumphant.) Of course I felt like I already knew him through David and Bob's 2013 blog accounts. I watched him roll off the 401 into the Tim Horton parking lot and moments later it felt like I'd known him for a long time myself.

Lunch was over all too quickly and he headed back to the super slab, racing ahead of the clouds, on his way to meet Scoot Commute. Day one of the, “No agenda – just heading east, maybe here, maybe there: I don’t have reservations” tour.
Nice ‘ta meet ya Ed. Ride safe and stop by anytime!

  1. t's amazing how quickly connections are made with other bloggers. I like the idea of "maybe here or there, no reservations tour". Nice that you got to meet.

  3. Very cool that you got to meet Ed in person. The blogosphere seems to bring us all a little closer.

  4. The "plan for everything" methodology beaten into me by the Army cringes and yet another part of me admires the "maybe here or there, no reservations" way of touring.....

    1. Dom, my Type A personality has a difficult time with it as well ... I've tried it two years now and I struggle when I don't have a goal.

  5. Definitely jealous of that kind of lifestyle! I've definitely had my wanderlust rekindled over the past few weeks! Glad you got to connect..

  7. Lessons and reminders here for us all. I'll never be as good as I'd like to be at "up and go". At least some planning seems to provide a bit of safe grounding, preventing float away??

Fun meeting Karen and Ed, glad that you could make it happen!

    1. Thanks Coop, I've learned some lessons in the last couple of years and found I'm not good at it either ... I seem to need a destination, but then on the down side of having a destination, I seem to rush there and not see much in between. Now I need to learn balance. Perhaps Sonja has the idea, plan the destination and make sure not to plan more than 300 km per day to get there.

  8. Ed's a great guy, that's for sure. Very nice sense of humour.

We had a very enjoyable evening, and Ed and I got to ride together to the South Shore.

    Truly memorable.

I'm glad you guys got to meet.

    1. It was a fairly easy meet up since Ed just happened to be riding by and my hood seemed to be a logical spot for him to stop. Glad you had an enjoyable evening - I was sure you would. I am beginning to understand Bob's desire to meet other moto-bloggers.
